Now this law is being amended in the Lok Sabha and a provision of possibly 10 years’ imprisonment and a fine of Rs 10 lakh is being made. There has been anger among the drivers regarding this.
Due to this, in the morning a large number of truck and other vehicle drivers blocked both the NH lanes near village Umraopur by placing trucks diagonally across them and started raising slogans. As soon as the jam started, queues of vehicles formed on both sides. People sitting in roadways buses and small four-wheelers stuck in the traffic jam were troubled by the cold. Kotwal Ashish Kumar Singh immediately reached the spot with his force, extinguished the traffic jam and got it cleared. After the jam was cleared from here, the drivers again blocked the NH above Sardala drain on Kasganj Road. Seeing the fierce appearance of the Kotwali police here, the jam automatically opened after half an hour.
Truck driver Hari Singh, resident of Mainpuri, said that we do not cause accidents intentionally. Now after the accident, we will have to think whether to work due to increase in punishment or not. Dumper driver Prem Singh said that if an accident occurs due to carelessness of the person in front, then the big vehicle is considered responsible. Is there no need to make a new law for this? Kotwal Ashish Kumar Singh told that there was a jam but it was cleared. Every effort will be made to ensure that there are no traffic jams due to law in future.
